This was a fun trip although did not really turn up much.
I should write in the blog when it happens and not a month later!
Basically I headed out with the new camcorder (Samsung) and the replacement Dell laptop to try and make my life easier. I had found in testing at home that the Sprint aircard had a function GPS and should allow me to ditch one thing from my harware bundle! The Dell laptop also had a new SSHD hard drive so I was looking forward to that…
What a mess!
First off, SSHD’s write S L O W I did know that before I left so I was asking for it there.
Sprint Aircards have GPS… Right up till you roam. SPRINT AIRCARD GPS DOES NOT WORK ROAMING!
What A complete mess, thank goodness I ran into Randy, Mike and Jesse otherwise I would have been in a world of hurt. Obviously I had my paper maps but we got in some bad back roads I had no clue where we were, the TomTom did ok of showing me where I was, but not where I wanted to go!
We met up with the HP mess you see in the photos, there were some crazy guys working on that Cell tower in the picture. I questioned a couple times if standing out of the car was smart, these idiots were working on a cell tower!
Just about to get pounded by the storm I headed North to get away from it, 3/4in hail was abound but I made it to the other side to get those incredible orange skies.
Ben (MINB) mistaked the Leaves that were everywhere as debris on the stream but the air was just litterally orange from all the stuff flying… and the sun hitting it just right. I keep killing myself for not getting that shot without the HHR in it.
Nightfall was immedately here and we met up with Chris Rice at an Applebees somewhere on the way back to KC.
I now know the OK border is an acceptable target to make and back in a single day as I had no problems getting to work the next morning.
