Ok I thought long and hard on this one…
December 10, 2006 Omaha, NE – Following a successful closing Scott Bennett of Omaha was the first person to officially use a customized key to open the Schlage lock ata new home on Lot 138 of the Oakmont sub division in rural Douglas County.
“Although people have been using locks on doors for ages this was the first time this key was used on this lock and on this home after it was officially purchased by a newowner” said Schlage lock representative Emmett Fitz-Hume.
“I think it’s great that I can be using this new platform like so many others have in the past on other new homes around me, I’m just happy it can be on my door. It’s truly unique and nobody has anything remotely like this.”
Many people have known other locks such as Master and Quickset for ages and the door on this home once featured one such lock under construction.
“This lockset is unique as it’s on this house and is opened by this key which Scott is now the proud owner of. If we made a press release removing any of these qualifiers it would not be unique or new. This is a tremendous day for everyone”
