Ok I want to take a moment to complain about “Cash For Clunkers”
If you don’t know it’s a program where “Uncle Obama” will give you $3500-4500 if you meet certain conditions. This program is intended to get gas guzzling crap off the road… for example a 98 olds Bravada that has a combined hwy/city MPG of 16.
What I think is stupid is a stipulation in the plan that says you have to have owned your vehicle for a year.
Now I understand why something like this is needed, idiots will go buy junk to get $4500 off a car…duh.
Why not just roll it back to when the bill was introduced, like “you must have owned the vehicle before “April 1, 2009″ or something like that?
See I bought the Bravada in March, and I would be more than happy to trade that puppy off on a new Ford Escape that gets a combined 23MPG… do supposedly what this bill is supposed to do. From my understanding there will be more buyers than “Rebates” so oh well, just wanted to vent how stupid this program is… to me at least.
Interestingly my wifes 02 Chrysler T&C also qualifies… but it’s not a clunker.
