My name is Scott I am the IT Manager for an Omaha based Architectural Engineering firm, technology guru and a severe weather fanatic.
Personal:
I am originally from Lincoln, NE but for the past 13 years have lived outside Omaha, NE with my wife and 3 wonderful children. I love severe weather and will do just about anything to experience it at any opportunity. Since 2008 I have visited over 13 states, traveled over 50,000 miles and experienced at least three dozen tornadoes. My Photography and Video has been featured on The Weather Channel and other media.
My Storm Chasing Websites:
I also own and operate the website spotterchat.org and founded ChaserTV.com before it was acquired by WDT/iMap in 2011.
I am a partner in Bennett Miller, LLP which operates the website eZuplink.com. eZuplink uses dedicated servers and cloud technology to help dozens of television stations & newspapers deliver live news video via the web.
I’m not the greatest weather forecaster in the world but when my peers want to talk technology I gladly take the call.
Professional:
I have been working professionally in IT since 1995. I specialize in making cost effective systems that simply work. If you have an IT problem I can solve it and will do it in such a way your users won’t miss a beat. It’s what I do.
This website is a prime example of how to make complex technologies cost effective… Design is templated and customized for less than $50, the primary site is hosted on a budget plan and the “Heavy Lifting” is done with Amazon’s S3 cloud. This site has experienced thousands of unique visitors in a day and not missed a beat.
My IT background includes Networking/IT Management of Casino Systems, Credit Card Processing and general office systems. I am a MCP and Microsoft Small Business Specialist I also maintain a number of VOIP systems and lately have been working to integrate cloud technology to make the systems I design fault and traffic tolerant.
Thanks for taking a little time to learn about me, I would LOVE to learn about YOU.
